Meet the Artist

Paola Martinez is a multidisciplinary visual artist located in the border region of El Paso, Texas and CD. Juarez, Mexico. Born in El Paso, Paola was raised in CD. Juarez, where she then moved back to the United States due to the Narco Drug War of 2008. She completed her BFA in Painting and Art History at the University of Texas at El Paso. Martinez works in multiple mediums including traditional oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, watercolors and creates urban murals with spray paint. By utilizing her unique finger painting style, the artist believes that she truly becomes in contact with her subjects. Martinez is interested in exploring and pursuing themes pertaining with the psyche of her subjects. The multidisciplinary artist is constantly inspired by her travels around the world as she shares her knowledge and brings cultural diversity to art, creating unison in humanity through her work.
